PFD too late

I was wondering if there is anything that I could do about paid collection accounts on my report. I just found out about the pfd letters and am kind of sick about paying those accts now.

I don't know for sure, but I think that once they have your money, they could care less. You may try writing a Goodwill letter to see if they will delete the enteries since you have paid. It may or may not work. Sorry to say it, but live and learn. I do wish you the best of luck though.

Yep, try a GW letter. You have no leverage now, and they lost motivation to work with you since you have paid. But it never hurts to ask. Smiley Happy

Re: PFD too late

I have a similar question.

I moved three years ago. Owing my local light company the amount was $831.00. They sent it to a CA who I paid $1006.00 two months ago.

I recently ran my credit report and found that the CA listed it as "settled for less than full balance." When I asked them about it they said I must have asked for a discount (which I didn't) and if I wanted a "paid in full" to pay them $70.00. Now I get voicemail at the CA they don't want to haggle with me.

I contacted the OC and asked if the case was assigned or sold to this company they said it was assigned.

I was thinking about doing a PFD to OC for the $70.00.

Any recommendations?
