PGW Dispute came back verfied but it is an address I never lived at.

Hi everyone,

  I recently started checking my credit reports for errors it had been a long time since I checked and I noticed a collection/charge off account with Philadelphia Gas Works for $729 it was opened in 10/05 and closed in 12/05. I called them and found out it was for gas service for an address I never lived at. I disputed it with them over the phone I know big mistake  should've done an official dispute on paper with CMRRR and with the three cb's and it still keeps coming back verified. What can I do at this point? I was a victim of identity fraud years ago my PA drivers license was stolen but I figured since I have been living in NJ for almost three years now and my Pa drivers license has expired long ago I was safe guess not. Any advice? It's only on TU.

I would first DV the CA....advise them that you never lived at that address and do not know who did.

For validation include: complete documentation including signture, Complete account history!!

do you have a police report or anything about the stolen license?

and send a copy of this letter to the CRA with a MOV-

Go to the PA PUC and file a complaint http://www.puc.state.pa.us/ Also to the Better Business Bureau website and file a complaint. I went through almost the same thing earlier this month and faxing PGW and holding on the phone for hours produced NO results. The PUC and BBB complaint resolved the issue in 3 days. Good Luck PGW is the worst.

Thanks, I will try the PUC and BBB I will let you know how it works out I have heard that PGW are a headache
