PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOC. - HELP!

They put a hard inquiry on my bureau, I sent them the hard inquiry removal demand letter CMRRR, I received the green card today, and they got the letter on 1/14/08. I just checked my bureau and the hard inquiry is still there. Now what???

I also filed a complaint with the FTC, to which the FTC responded via email explaining they would be in touch, etc.

Re: PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOC. - HELP!

I recently sent a letter to transunion and experian reguarding ca hard inquiries on my reports. i recieved a letter from transunion and experian stating that these inquiries fall under the permissible purpose area and are going to stay on my report for two years. with these inquiries i have a total of 12 inquiries on each report, with out them i would only have two inquiries in the past year.  portfolio is on each report atleast three times. im really sick of working so hard and getting set back all the time.

CAs DO NOT have PP to do a hard inq. IMO, sue both portfolio and the CRA(s).

Re: PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOC. - HELP!

I threaten to sue, and I did file a complaint with the FTC, and the AG, clearly they don't think it means a hill of beans, but then again they have not tried contacting me again, it just bothers me that the HI is still on my report.

Re: PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOC. - HELP!

This CA is tough (see some of my previous posts).  Good luck and let us know how it turns out for you.

BTW - I had a hard inquiry on my TU report from NCO back in October.  I sent them the following letter via CMRRR (they just signed for it, so I'll have to update the outcome later):

I discovered an inquiry on my TransUnion credit report that is not associated with a credit transaction initiated by me.  In accordance with the law, and recent case law from the Ninth Circuit (Pintos vs. Pacific Creditors Association), please delete this inquiry.
