Dispute statements don’t negatively impact you at all. Capital One did the same thing to me a few years back when I put in a dispute for charges on my card. It shows AID (account in dispute) one month and the next month DRG (dispute resolved by grantor). Worst case scenario it’s not being used for FICO score calculations this month but that’s about it.
I complained about Synchrony’s reporting when I got the card too. They will report the first time you put a balance on the account immediately and then they will update it paid about 7 days after your statement closes so if you time your payment to zero right, you can avoid them reporting a balance when you don’t want them to.
That said, it’s not worth micromanaging. I decided that my PayPal card will be my balance reporter if I decide to do AZEO again but AZEO is frustration that’s unnecessary unless you have a mortgage coming up in the next 60 days or so since it has minimal impact otherwise and it likely actually hurts you with other credit apps because it looks like you’re not using the credit you have been given.
The PayPal has become my favorite card now, I definitely would have been kicking myself if I closed it over Sync’s first two months of reporting.
Agree with this. Plus, if the comment DID negatively impact, closing the card wouldn't make it go away, any more than you can get rid of lates by closing the card.
Hmmm. Sync does report new accounts very quickly, within a day or two after approval, but I don't remember them reporting a balance on the first charge, but it's possible I missed it. I do have a habit of using new cards right away, a terminal swipe at a local store (after activating), to reassure them know that it was really me & I got the card, then its online I go . . .
Do you all think that the dispute will impact my ability to request a credit limit increase with Synchrony?
Someone else commented about their limit being raised from $300 to $7k quickly. How long did it take for that to happen? Has anyone else had a good experience with their PP Mastercard limit being raised quickly?
In the month that I've had it, I've run about $7K of charges through it, and paid them in full immediately. It currently has a $5K limit but I'd like to see it go much higher so I can make it my primary card.
I had never heard of Credit Solutions until you mentioned it just now. I looked it up on the forums and it seems like an interesting option. Should I go ahead and ask even though the account is new? In case they review my credit, my TransUnion score should bounce back to 740 after the $0 balance from Synchrony is reported. Like I mentioned before, I've run about $7K through the card in a month, so they might be interested in raising my limit. I just assumed it was too early to ask, especially with the dispute on the account.

@saeren I believe you are correct as far as FICO scores are concerned. It's late and I'm tired, but I do believe there are multiple threads concerning applications being flagged due to an account in dispute.
OP, reporting dates are a big frustration when we are trying to squeeze out every little point we can get. I know! I can't quote chapter and verse, but they have thirty days from your payment posting to report the new balance. They are much faster to report balance increases than decreases. Some banks, like US Bank report on a particular day. US Bank reports on the last business day. Statement date matters to some and not to others.

It's one of my favorite cards, too! Now if only they'd increase my limit over $700. I've been trying to use it as much as possible so I can finally get it up, but I know it may take some time. I did open a lot of accounts in a short period of time and that's something to be concerned about from a lender's perspective. I'm going to try another CLI request on Monday and we'll see what happens!
