Permanent Record

This is the first credit question I've had that I couldn't find an answer to here in eight years. Hopefully someone can point me, and others with the same concern, to an authoritative resource.

On credit applications above $150,000 (in 2022), pursuant to 15 U.S. Code § 1681c(b)(1), creditors can view anyone's entire credit history beyond seven years. How can consumers view and dispute any inaccuracies that may be reported from their "permanent record"?  I suspect this may have happened to me recently when an underwriter referenced an account I never opened and isn't on my report.

Re: Permanent Record

It may have come from LexisNexis. You can request your report from them.

You'd be surprised how much info they have on you. If you find the fraud. You can dispute it with them.
