Hi,
I'm posting in this forum because I think it'll be best received/answered here.
I'm currently using myfico.com as a monitoring site and I pulled my reports from myfico twice in the past month and noticed some changes I was hoping for (yay!). Anyway, I went to annualcreditreport.com to get my actual real reports and it tells me I have already gotten them for free once this year. So I called the number that was offered to me and I ordered them (EQ and TU and EX (FAKO?)) over the automated system. I didn't pay for them or give any payment information. The service said it would take 15 business days to receive my reports. Is this for real? In other words, can I order these reports as many times as I want over this phone number for free? Obviously I have to wait 2 excrutiating weeks to receive them, but still, is this for real?
THANK YOU!!!!
Did you already pull your freebies this year --as in within the last 12 calendar months? If so, and if these do arrive in the mail, I think you got lucky.
I used to have the opposite problem. Back when I subscribed to an Experian-based monitoring system, annualcreditreport-dot-com and Experian both swore that I had pulled my EX freebie within the year, when I hadn't. I had to cancel the service just to get my free report.
Perhaps they have some bookkeeping issues?
They said that I DID pull them but I remember seeing them online. SO I know I didn't get them mailed to me. So I guess they're really coming in the mail?
How else could I get my REAL ACTUAL EQ/TU reports? Ones directly from the CB, not myfico.com for example? Can I just go to experian dot com or transunion dot com and pay for them and see them online?
THANKS!

Yes but why not just wait for the mail?
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802
EQ - 7/06-663, 3/10-800, 10/10-813
TU - 10/10-774
You can do the same thing with hard work
Oh I absolutely WILL wait for the mail. But after checking online at equifax dot com I got even more suspicious/confused
So you can buy all three CB reports for 39.95 there. Yes, EQ/TU/ AND EX. So I called and asked if these were in fact our real credit scores. They said yes, and I said, well it's impossible for me to get my own EX score... Are these in fact REAL FICO scores? She said no, they were equifax scores (can't remember specifically).
I currently use myfico.com but I want to be able to see stuff like DOFD and fall of dates which aren't provided by myfico.com. Can I get these online? I'll pay but I want REAL fico numbers of course.
THANK YOU!!!!
How did Equifax get into the picture?? I guess it's possible that what happened is that you were routed to Equifax when you when to annualcredityadayada, and what you've done is buy Equifax's 3-in-1 report pull, complete with EQ FAKO's.
Until very recently, Equifax was the only hold-out in selling FAKO's from their site. Alas, they've now also gone over to the dark side.
At any rate, all three scores will be FAKO's, and the reports will (I'm reasonably sure) be the short versions without the soft inquiries. (The presence of the soft inquiries is the easiest way to tell if you have the full version or the short version.)
Or it's also possible that Equifax is somehow trying to sell you the full reports via their website, although I didn't think that was possible.
At any rate, please update us when they come! I'm even more confused than you are at this point.
eta: in the future, when you're trying to find out what kind of scores are being offered, ask if they're FICO scores rather than "real" scores. FAKO scores are real, if nothing else in the sense of being real(ly) misleading. You can also ask if they're Vantage scores, or PLUS scores, or TransRisk scores (three of the more common FAKO versions out there.)
I will def. update. Thanks for such fast reponses, as always.
My remaining question is though: Let's say I want to get my FICO scores online, full actual credit reports or actually get them mailed. What service will actually give me my REAL report? Ones with DOFD, Fall off date, etc. Myfico is obviously a good service in that it gives you real fico scores but none of that other cool stuff is on there.
Thanks!
I could be wrong and will not be upset if corrected but I believe the only places you can get full credit reports is at annualcreditreport.com or straight from EQ, TU and EX.
If you called 1-877-322-8228 than you are good to go as far as getting those reports from ACR.

You can only buy true FICO scores at a few places. One place is here at myFICO. I suggest you do an internet search for "myfico discount codes" to save a little money. You can also purchase your Transunion score at www.transunioncs.com. At www.equifax.com EQ will still sell you an EQ FICO score but they make it very hard to find.
If you already knew that I apologize for the redundancy.

You're not going to be able to get a FICO score and a full report together.
I pull my full reports from the actual credit bureaus. It can be a hassle wading through all the choices and trying to avoid monitoring services and scores and what-not, but they're in there. They're generally around $10-12 a pop, as I recall.
I have a service from Equifax called Credit Watch Gold. It lets me pull a full report every day, if I were to be so foolish. (It's a good way to split reports.) It also monitors and sends alerts. It does NOT come with a FICO score.
It's nearly impossible to get your EQ FICO score from the EQ website (this is a recent change.) You can get your TU98 FICO from transunioncs.com (note the -cs), although I think you might have to sign up for the Quarterly Monitoring thingy as well. I might well be wrong on this. At any rate, if the page describing the score doesn't scream "FICO" all over it, I wouldn't bother. If they don't flat-out say FICO, it isn't. It's a "credit score."
For a one-time FICO score purchase, you can buy a FICO Standard score here. Click on the Products tab.
If you have money to burn on this new hobby, you can subscribe to a couple of myFICO products. I have to say, I'm not nearly as obsessive about pulling scores as I used to be. When Experian skipped out, all the fun went with them. But the combo that seems to work best in terms of price and access for me is to have Scorewatch (for EQ) and the Suze Orman kit, both from here. SW is reasonable for keeping up with my EQ FICO score changes, as long as I remember to reset the target, and additional reports are discounted. Suze includes three pre-paid reports per year, from either bureau, so I just pull three TU reports, one at a time.
Be sure to save any Standard reports or Suze reports. The Standard reports vanish after ~40 days or so, and the Suze reports vanish one year after signing up. Oh, and I ignore all the fol-de-rol that goes along with the Suze kit, although others do use it, I'm sure.
Google fico score discount coupon code or some similar combo of terms to find a discount code before you buy any FICO stuff.
Hope this doesn't leave you even more confused!
eta: and of course, the Terse Texan out-typed me.
