Hi all,
New user on the myFICO boards and new credit card user in general. After getting approved for my first card I received access to my credit report for the first time (January 2020).
I found that I had a collections account filed in 2015, original account was with a utility account for unpaid services in 2014 (for $272). I hadn't lived at that address during the time they were trying to collect for, so I disputed it with the agency and provided some documentation. I never heard back from them. Now, when I check my reports, the collections account shows as "closed" on my Experian and Equifax reports (updated just a couple days ago; TransUnion still shows open).
Does this mean that I'm no longer held responsible for the debt? I know it's difficult to remove a closed account but I just want to make sure I don't still need to pay it.
Thanks!
Hi and welcome
Are they showing $0.00 for amount?

Thank you! It is still showing the $272 balance. The account was shown as "open" until this week.
