Question about your experience with Equifax

My bank uses Equifax.  I am working hard on credit repair and my other two scores are slowly going up but Equifax won't budge.  I'm assuming it will eventually go up but will I all of a sudden see a big jump?  Why are they so slow?

Re: Question about your experience with Equifax

i'm sure that I am not really qualified to answer your question, but my Equifax score is the lowest, and i guess I can't complain to much as there is only a two point spread between the high and the low score.  I honestly would have thought it would be a bigger gap.  For me, if I do the scorewatch, I guess it would work out. I would just figure my other two scores are a point or two higher.

Re: Question about your experience with Equifax

Equifax definitely sees the world--or at least your credit file--with crap-colored glasses. My Equifax score brings up the rear at 607, compared to my other scores of 644 and 685.

Re: Question about your experience with Equifax

Same here I saw a 25 point drop when I first started now it has gone up the 25 plus an additional 28 points. Go figure. They took me down brought me up. I believe it has to do with loss of hx when you get older accounts removed or deleted. But, I prefer the initial drop because now it is showing progress and my credit rpoert reads a lot easier than before. I don't think creditors care to see your in the middle of fixing it they prefer to see the fixes and a nice clean report. Though when you are in the middle of cleanup keep all written documentaion (proof letters) until it is reported and until infinity in case it ever comes back.

Re: Question about your experience with Equifax

I have the same problem.  My EQ score lags at least 40 points behind one and 60 behind another.  Was more than that until I got a whopping 8 point increase with a new revolving account (when the simulator told me at least 10-30 points).  I want a home loan through my bank for many different reasons.  They use EQ score even though they pull all three reports.  At the snail's pace EQ moves, I'll be on my deathbed before I reach 720.  I really don't understand how there can be such a descrepancy between two CRA's that are reporting the exact same things on my CR's - same accounts, same credit age, everything the same.  It is frustrating.

Re: Question about your experience with Equifax

Strange. My TU and EQ are the same score with EX 8 points lower.

Re: Question about your experience with Equifax

My TU is the lowest.  Always has been and unfortunately, seems to be the one that all my creditors pull...go figure

Re: Question about your experience with Equifax

Guess that goes to show us that there's no "one" CRA that will always be lower since it seems to be different for many. TU is my highest. EQ is my lowest, trailing 20 points behind EX and 33 points behind TU.

EQ is usually my lowest, TU highest.

Re: Question about your experience with Equifax

My EQ is my highest with a 27 point difference between it and the lowest.  The only accounts that are showing consistantly the same between EQ, EX, and TU are my Cap1 accounts.  Weird that there is so much discrepancy.
