Question of Freezing EX / EQ

I am thinking of freezing my EX / EQ. I have an account with Credit Union.  If I were to freeze these CR's and ask my credit union for a CL can the CU still do a hard pull on EQ/EX or would it be a soft pull?

Re: Question of Freezing EX / EQ

As they are an existing creditor, they can still do a hard pull, if they do one for CLI's, that is.

Re: Question of Freezing EX / EQ

Your existing creditors are supposed to be able to pull but you will most likely find that they cannot. I expect this will eventually change as their software is updated to reflect the relatively new ability for consumers to freeze their reports. As of now, expect any creditor to ask you to unfreeze your report to access it via a hard pull. Perhaps you could get them to pull a soft inquiry instead? Good luck.

Re: Question of Freezing EX / EQ

Thanks. I do not want any more hard inq's on my CR especially EX/EQ. They can do a soft or pull my TU. Pretty soon by Dec 2009 all my new accounts and inq's should be 1 year old and I want to keep it that way with no new inq's. Some times for my business they keep pulling my personal CR and I want to avoid them pulling my EX/EQ.
