Question on Collection Accounts

About 6 months ago I paid off a few medical collections and noticed they fell off my CR almost immidiately with EX and EQ. Yesterday I pulled my TU CR and noticed they are paid $0 balance but all of them are on Transunion.

Is there nothing I can do but wait for 7 years for TU to knock this crap off even though EQ and EX removed it already for whatever reason?

Collection: United Trade
Original Creditor:
MED1 Kettering
Anesthesia Assoc Inc
Account #: 1963**
HIGH Balance: 800
Date Opened: 09/01/2002
Date Reported: 04/01/2007
Balance: 0
Condition: 03/01/2007

Now that I look at this a little more, I paid $500 towards the $800 and they said it would be considered PIF. It appears that they made the balance 0 and opened up another collections account with the $500 balance and made it 0 balance as well.
So really I should only have the first and third collections. The second one is what I paid towards the third. I checked and my original account # was 1963** so where they came up with the second one (186**) I don't know. WTH

Re: Question on Collection Accounts

Hey there Glitche,

Pretty neat that they dropped off the other CRs they were reported on.  I don't know how or why either.  I would dispute the $500 collection and GW the other two.

Re: Question on Collection Accounts

Thanks for the info.

I didn't PFD. They just simply.. disappeared from EQ and EX.

I think I will dispute the $500 and maybe GW the other 2.

Or should I feel balsy and dispute all? Hell, what could it hurt right?
Only thing is, WTH do I say?

If the debt is yours, why are you going to dispute it? Under what grounds? I wouldn't dispute a collection that is mine.

Re: Question on Collection Accounts

According to OP, the $500 is a dup.  They split that balance off when it was settled as paid for less than full.
