I always say anything is possible, but I would save the stamp. If you apply for new credit, a hard INQ is standard. The one exception to this would be if you apply for a CC or other type account with a company you already have (not had) one with... they MIGHT only pull a soft INQ. If this was the situation with any and it was a hard pull I would certainly take the time to nicely ask if they would classify it as an account review and recode to a soft INQ.

I have several recent inquiries for new credit (Hooters, Juniper, AMEX, and WaMu), which I received a CC for each. Will any of these companies be willing to recode their pulls to soft from a hard one? If so, please tell me how to go about requesting this. Thanks!
