Rebuilding Plan

I am rather cheap and hate spending money unless I have too. I have come to the realization that to truly be successful in my rebuilding efforts that I am going to need lots of information. In regards to getting credit reports from all 3 agencies, updated and accurate Fico scores and alerts. Is MyFico the best option or is there another option that is better, If it is one of the MyFico products which is recommended.

Re: Rebuilding Plan

You can pull your credit report free once a year. I suggest doing that first. Based on what you find on your CR you can make a plan then start tackling your issues. I would then use the Experian 9.95 trial a few months later to see what remains and where you stand.

If you don’t mind spending the money, and you want something that tracks progress and monitors and graphs all the strides you’ve made then I suggest MyFICO 3B subscription.

Re: Rebuilding Plan

There are lots of ways to get your scores, but in my opinion, a myfico subscription is the best. With it you can see all the score versions that you may need. I opted for the monthly subscription which is the most expensive, but I personally feel its been money well spent as I have a much better understanding of how changes affect the different versions.

If you don't want to pay and you really only care about looking at Fico 8, then there are multiple free versions. Discover Scorecard gives you the score for Experian updated once a month. If you have a Discover card then you can also get TU from them. I don't have any place to get EQ for free. You can also monitor the items on your report with Credit Karma on TU and EQ, but not EX. I looked a while back for a Vantage report on EX, but haven't found anything. Even though these are Vantage scores and don't really help you know what your real scores are, the ability to see what is reporting is useful.

You can also do the creditchecktotal.com route and do the trial for 7 days for a dollar and then cancel before the trial is up, but this only gives you Fico 8.

I wanted to keep a check on all of them because at the time I was working on getting a mortgage and that is the main reason I went with the MyFico sub. to me its worth it when you are starting out with a rebuild. After a while, that money could be better spent elsewhere. I still have the subscription( got charged today) and the only reason I have kept it now is because I have one more baddie to fall off EQ and I want to see what happens to my versions after it drops. I hope that will be any day.

Started Rebuild 4/2018: EX 616| TU 604| EQ 621

Current 5/28/20:

First Goal Score: 750+ Reached 3/2019

Next Goal all over 800

Re: Rebuilding Plan

I use the Experian subscription now because myFICO is slower at updating or right now they haven’t updated my Equifax but that is the same thing happening with credit karma. So the only one that is updating all of them for me is Experian with all three bureaus.

I signed up for the MyFICO 3B subscription today and apparently they cannot validate my identity so it doesn't look like I will be able to move forward. I am a little concerned, I am not sure what to do.
