Repossession After Separation

I have a questions about a repossession on my credit. My ex-husband and I were legally separated July 1, 2017. Our divorce was final October 30, 2018. (NC have to be separated for a year). Anyhow, In September of 2018, he let his car get repossessed. He was the primary account holder and me the secondary. Both of our cars were that way. I still have mine, in his name and me as secondary. Our credit wasn't good enough to refinance in our names alone. Is there any way to get that repossession off of my credit? We weren't together and that was "his" car. Thanks for your help!

Re: Repossession After Separation

Unfortunately, no. You're both jointly responsible for the car. Any leftover balance after they sell it will be your responsibility as well. If they can't get the money from him, they're going to come after you.
