Sallie-Mae multiple accounts...

I have a problem on my TU report with Sallie-Mae. There are multiple accounts listed on there and 3 of them are for individual grant loans last time i recall. There are a total of 7 entries. The first entry is for Sallie-Mae which is the principle balance of all 3 grant loans of the 6 accounts listed. This account i've been paying for 6 months now and never been late. The other 3 accounts are for each individual loan. These 3 accounts show that they've been 90 days late 4 times and I believe it's hurting my credit score. These have been closed. The remainding 3 accounts are from SM Servicing and show that they've been transferred to another lender. These are the same accounts with the same loan amounts. Im not sure why they were transfered to another lender when it's still sallie mae servicing.

Anyway, what is the best way to clean this offer my record? Does the GW letter come in handy is this type of situation?

Thanks for your help..

I am having a hard time getting a solid timeline with your post-

Are the lates valid?

Re: Sallie-Mae multiple accounts...

yes they are. I was late because I was unemployed for a while. So they are valid.

Sorry for the confusion..

Re: Sallie-Mae multiple accounts...

Getting valid student loan lates removed is one of the hardest things to do-

The Higher Education Act requires them to report accurate-

Remember if you ever run into this situation again ask for a deferment-

You can try a GW- make sure they are not "missing" any of the lates as they seem to pop in if they are not there.

Re: Sallie-Mae multiple accounts...

Do you think it's possible to remove the other 3 accounts that sold the original accounts or are they here to stay?
