With a reported change to the total sum of all my bank card accounts, my score dropped by 10pts! A total bummer as I PIF every month, and I'm very careful about my utilization. Matter of fact, when this reported last month -- it was higher by $23 dollars! Just on the 27th, it jumped 10pts and now that gain is gone.
So why the drop? I feel like raising my credit score is a two steps forward, one step back process.

What was the reason for the 27th jump? Transunion monitoring lately has been wierd, something screwy (tm) in my opinion is going on there and not sure what based on several reports.

You'd have to carefully review reports from before and after the score change to determine the cause(s).
Your score will change with activity. You can't just expect constant increases. If you're going to fixate on the numbers then set a much higher points threshold. I suggest at least 20 points as normal activity can lead to changes within that sort of range.
Why worry about it? A steady increase over time is what I'm after. I get the same thing you do all the time. In fact, I've had one CRA drop me 10 points and another raise me 5 points for the "the total on all your bankcards has changed" reason referencing the same amount. I'll get drops for a percentage change in month to month reported balances. Drops for using a card I haven't used in the past 6 months. Drops on one CRA for paying off a loan and raises on another CRA for paying off the same loan.
If I worried about each and every swing in my points and reviewed each and every credit report before and after the point change line by line, I wouldn't have time to sleep, eat, or work. Just think of all the reward points you will miss out on because you won't have time to use your cards! Unacceptable!
