Should I have seen a score boost?

I have been trying to get a company that i had a account with for 3 yrs to report  to equifax finally they did. It was a installment account paid my last payment 60 days ago so they reported it to equifax with a 36 month history always on time and pays as agreed. And also same day which was Friday a Collection account was removed because it was bogus. First let me say NO ScoreWatch alert but I thought it should have sent alert because there were changes to my report. But I just wonder if I should see a score boost. My equifax number has been killing me 593 even though experian is a 690 and transunion is a 668. I just want to see over 600 with equifax but no matter what I do it stays.

Re: Should I have seen a score boost?

You should get a boost off of these two moves. The installment account is a positive and deleting the CA is the removal of something that was dragging your score down. How much of a boost you get from the removal of the CA depends on how recent. Hope that helps.

Re: Should I have seen a score boost?

It has only been Friday since it has been added, so give it a day or two for the alert to a new account. I always get the alert days after. NOTE: SW is not the fastest at alerting, be patient.

As far as the collection goes, you cannot really tell whether or not you will get a score boost, especially if you have other collections or derog's reporting. If this collection was one of your older ones and you have more newer ones it is very possible not to get a boost at all. Try to work on the more recent negatives first and then work on the older ones, especially for score boosts. The newer ones affect your scores the most.

Re: Should I have seen a score boost?

I would say wait for a score alert (or worst pull your scores). If it was two months old you are likely to see some type of boost. They are not instant at all. SW does not alert you of things removed from your credit files either, btw.

Re: Should I have seen a score boost?

I gave up waitin on score alert. so I pulled my score 6 points 1 point away from 600 with equifax. I need to get it over that hump but no clue how. I have one account that I have ask for a PFD but have been turned down for it. Should I send another PFD?

Re: Should I have seen a score boost?

Having collections deleted when you have remaining collections will net you very few, if any, points.

Your other accounts and report age will factor into how many points you get for the new account. Plus a few of those points will be offset by adding a new account(which usually cost you a few pts)

SW only monitors weekly for changes to your score. I believe it checks on Fridays. You'll probably get an alert this Friday for what happened last Friday.

Re: Should I have seen a score boost?

I think you should try for another PFD. I have seen multiple people say that kept sending PFD's and finally they had success. Do not give up, be persistent.

Re: Should I have seen a score boost?

I sent off another GW letter today but I also emailed the VP of the department. It is really strange because they were paid by my insurance way before they said they were and it is a hospital that if you don't pay they take it out of your state income taxes that next yr. But anyway hopefully i will have some sucess. I have also been working on my spouses yesterday I emailed a collection called park dansone got a reply today in email with a reference number for it being removed from all three cra's also did the same with recovery solutions and they sent email removed. NCO is my hardest one and it is a pain especially when the hospital it was with was on contract with our insurance to take what they pay.
