My hamster story is far less traumatic than the previous two. His name was Chris (I guess it was a him). I had him for years, I think he died around age 5 or 6. I should have named him Houdini of course since I was like 4 when I got him I didn't think that way, but he could esacape from ANYTHING except those wire cages.
I remember saving up for an "escape proof" cage. It had lots of tunnels and hiding places and was super colorful. Green, yellow, red, blue.... well, he got out. Ate right through the **bleep** thing, then ate through my closet door (wood). We searched everywhere and couldn't find him

it didn't help that it was that time of year, where I had to pack up all my toys and old clothes in giant black trash bags to send to the local childrens shelter.
About a week after he vanished, I found a little can of barbie food. You gals and parents of girls know the type tiny hollow plastic "can" with whatever label on it. Well something had chewed the top off of it. A few days later there was a 1/2 a plastic carrot by the closet door.
I don't remember how long it went on, I think about 3 wks or so, but he finally came out during daylight and we caught him and put him back in the WIRE cage. All was well for another year or so until he passed.
Not only could he survive on plastic, but he had our cats whipped. Two were afraid of him, and two would cuddle with him and clean him then fall asleep haha
And I agree, we want pics Ivy!
