seeing the effects of unpredictable accidents - be they sickness or divorce - on credit, and the compounding problems this can cause, I as a young man would appreciate yall's knowledge in helping me build a solid foundation. i do realize this will take years, I am quite patient. my goal is long-term strength, not what FICO makes me look like tomorrow. in brief: -my only debt account is a single cc -my debt to credit ratio is currently 19% -my payment history is perfect, having never missed a payment -I have held this cc for 1y8m, which accounts for my entire average account age -EQ calculated my FICO as 724 - I have not checked the other services' scores is there any plan of action I should be taking? would getting 1 or 2 more credit cards (applying with some time between each, naturally) be a wise decision, in order to have a larger number of well-aged accounts? would applying for a car loan for my next vehicle help at all? though I realize this would increase the amount I pay for a vehicle that I could most likely afford in cash, I imagine losing $1000 to a car loan is a worthwhile investment to save $10,000 on a house via a higher FICO score? if pertinent, my aspirations are home ownership, the process of which I do not plan on beginning for at least 6 years. I paid for my $750 car in cash
