Chase is known to pull 2 different bureaus quite often.  That's different than what's going on with the OP, though, as he saw double pulls from the same bureau, which makes no sense for a single application.

BBS this may have been the first time I've seen this happen, which obviously was an error as the OP found out, but interesting that it even happened.  Had the OP not been paying attention, this one could've slipped by.

Haha no way. I asked if there are any other accounts showing just in case of fraud and she said the only accounts showing open are my marvel and new lowes accounts.

Re: Syncrony did a random HP of my credit?

I would think a conversation with the EO would yield the removal of the second HP in a matter of days.

They usually get back to you within 2 business days.  I could see it taking an extra day due to the holiday.  One you speak with them I think they'd "research" it (which should take 5 minutes, honestly) and within a couple of days submit a request to the bureau for removal.  I anticipate it being a quick process for you.

You have to love how quickly they can HP you but that make you jump through hoops even if they are a fault to get it removed. It doesnt bother me because I'm sure it will be resolved and according to CCT the second pull didnt cost me any points.

Re: Syncrony did a random HP of my credit?

Think of all the people that don't monitor their credit and would never know about additional or unauthorized HP's...

Regarding your score not dropping, that means that however many inquiries you had in the last 365 days on that bureau after the first synchrony HP is binned together with 1 more inquiry. The reason getting this removed would be a good thing is that it then let's you know that you can take another HP on that bureau at any point and not see any adverse impact to your score. You could go for a HP CLI for example a few months down the line if you felt like it.

That's my goal in 6 months after my new accounts get some age on them. I'd gladly take a HP CLI knowing I'm immune to a score drop.

Re: Syncrony did a random HP of my credit?

Synchrony is a joke. They already lost Walmart to Capital One and Sam’s Club will follow in a couple years.

My wife and I have a Synchrony Ashley furniture cArd we got 5-+ years ago. She randomly had a soft (not hard) inquiry for Synxhrony-Walmart. On her TU. We don’t have a Walmart card heck we haven’t been in one in probably 5+ years. I sent them a secure message online and they took it as me disputing the credit reporting status. (Perfect payment history and $0 balance ). They never understood why I was not pleased with it. In the end I’m sure it was just the standard acxoubt review coded wrong.
