SPs have no impact on your credit report as I'm sure you know. Also the SP inquiry could have been a promotional inquiry if you have not not opted out of pre screened offers.
But why let facts get in the way of a good rant?
My wife and I have a Synchrony Ashley furniture cArd we got 5-+ years ago. She randomly had a soft (not hard) inquiry for Synxhrony-Walmart. On her TU. We don’t have a Walmart card heck we haven’t been in one in probably 5+ years. I sent them a secure message online and they took it as me disputing the credit reporting status. (Perfect payment history and $0 balance ). They never understood why I was not pleased with it. In the end I’m sure it was just the standard acxoubt review coded wrong.
Why would you care about a random SP? Most people receive random SPs all the time; I've had hundreds so far this year.
Here is a snapshot of just some of my SP inquires this year for various promotional inquiries and account reviews which happen quite often.
I was approved instantly for the Cathay Pacific card on November 15, hard pull dated November 15th. I was just reviewing my Transunion account on CreditKarma and noticed Synchrony hard pulled me again on November 19.
Any ideas why this might be?
Oh joy. Looks like I need to make a phone call tomorrow. I haven’t even gotten the dang card yet and I’m dealing with Synchrony drama....

Yea... Sorry..
Good Luck!!!
Yup, this is definitely not an isolated incident based on posts over the last few weeks on here.
While it's annoying to have to make a phone call and deal with it, know that there's no reason that they shouldn't promptly submit a request to the CRA for the removal of the second (unnecessary) pull.
