I just want to extend a HUUUGGEEE thank you to Myfico and all of those who have provided me support here on the forum. You have taught me so much. I was seriously ready to throw in the towel a couple weeks ago as some of you know. I thank you for your encouragement as I didn't.
My scores are on there way up and have made incredible progress since I started working on them 3 weeks ago. My Experian score is now 608 and still has a TON of stuff getting ready to be deleted or fall off. Equifax hit 566 today and it was 433 a year ago, was 513 2 wks ago!! All 3 bureaus have stuff scheduled to be deleted/fall of this month and over the next few months. I am confident all 3 of my scores will be in the 600's within the next 30-60 days!!! This would have NEVER happened w/out the help of all of you!
Here are some of the things I did for those wanting to know:
1. PAID all collections except one (that I am still going back and forth with - UNIFUND uggghhh - trying to work a PFD with them). I paid every single CC even if it was old. Even if it is only a few points you get for paying, they do all add up and it is nice to see that past due balance field be $0!!!!
2. Added one POSITIVE 2 year car loan. It was only reporting to 1 bureau, now 3. Got a BIG boost from that.
3. Had a few late payments deleted on a car loan, and one student loan.
4. Had 2 collection accounts deleted using PFD.
5. Cleaned up report over all (still working this one). Basically got duplicate accounts deleted, wrong status information changed, comments fields updated. There are still valid innacuracies and figure I'll work on these as I have time. Just can't do it all at once.
Still waiting on quite a few PFDs and Goodwills I sent out. Hoping I can get a favor from at least one or two of them. Am zero for zero on the GW to date. I am paying my debts the old fashion way (paying them) and seeing progress! yipppee!
p.s. Hubby and I decided to wait and build our dream home instead of forcing ourselves into a bad mortgage on the house we were currently renting/doing a lease purchase. We are going to build a new house and that will give us at least 6-12 months to get both of our scores to the 700's hopefully! Hubby's is already mid 600's due to him doing much of the same stuff I did above.
Thank you all!
