TU repsonds with "No longer on file." Still there?!?!

I recently disputed a collection on my TU report for being too old. I did this through an online dispute. It's fall off date is January 2017.

However, TU responds that this is no longer on file. Checked my reports through Identity Guard and CK, both are showing it is still listed.

Do I dispute this again? What should my dispute comments consist of?

Thank you!

If it's supposed to fall of in January I wouldn't bother. Work on something else and let the derog fall off by itself.

I agree with gdale 100%! Even the 3-B fico reports dont always show the correct info, or its missing info.

Like gdale said, you need to pull your report from TU itself, but like another poster said as well, Id just leave it, as its going to fall off soon enough.  TU is great about EE up to 3-6mo before the actual fall off date.

Once you dispute with TU they should send you an email with the results and allow you to log back in via the dispute portal to see your report. That's where I would determine if it is still there or not. 3rd party pullers are always off and usually don't update on the fly. They may be showing old info.

Meh.  Dispute process and incidentally third party data furnishers both suck.  Maybe the Los Angeles recorder's office too, really tempted to march down there on Tuesday and ask for the official record.

Anyway be careful what you wish for on disputes: TU filed my NCAP flier request as a dispute, and now I have two tax liens on my report instead of one.  Identical but for status (which I get paid vs. released not quite the same) and somehow a different court docket number.

Somewhere over the years someone screwed up, and the resolution path to fix it: you guessed it, another dispute.
