Tennessee SOL question

The SOL in Tennessee is 6 years, so does that mean they can't file suit against me on a debt that is 6 years past the DOFD? My understanding is that this is the case and the entries stay on the report fot the standard 7 years. I know this is a basic question but I wanted some of you folks to weigh in with your opinions....

The party you owe money to can try and sue as long as the debt exists...no matter how old it is. The SOL is simply your defense in a court of law. So if you are out from under your state's SOL, this would be your defense...your honor this debt is past TN's SOL. As for reporting SOL, you're correct.
