Last weekend I went car shopping with my son. He's 19 and this is the first time he's ever applied for credit. Needless to say I needed to co-sign for him because of that, which was no big deal. I was expecting a small ding for the hard pulls, but instead I got the inverse. My score went up a couple of points because of it. Never had that happen before and was unexpected.
Can't say I've ever had a score bump from an Inquiry. Always a few points ding. Although today I received a 3 point bump on EX for having the total of all Card balances increase $37. Bizarre to me. I do have several Cards with zero bal but also a few cards with a bal. Definintely not AZEO. Fico, go figure
Aging happens at the beginning of each month and the factors listed below could have offset the inquiries incurred applying for the auto loan. FYI
Note: Even though it says "decreased" I think they mean "increased"

Your score increase was not from the inquiries.

Ya, I don't think I have ever had a score increase ..due to inquiries.
I am hoping I can get 3 pts for my TU file
..would the score increase be related to indirectly(?) adding an installment loan?
I'd speculate a drop in revolving utilization and/or accounts with balances was the score booster.
OP - Did you have any open installment loans on file prior to the cosign? If not, any closed loans?
Definitely not caused by the inquiries.
