Update since Active Repair

Hi All,

Just thought I would update you so far.  Since I have started actively pursuing credit repair again, after a hiatus, and only for the past month, this is what I have so far.  I don't know what effect this will have on the scores, but I'll keep you all updated so that you can keep the faith [hopefully].  So far:
1. Auto loan was reporting as charged off [it was not].  Got a letter and notice that they will be updating report to all 3 bureaus to read: Acct paid as agreed, never late.
2.  Cap 1 - reporting collections on 2 accounts.  Accounts were both included in BK, will now report included in BK, no collections, zero balance.  Received letter to this effect.
3.  Chase - Collections account; actually was paid a long time ago before BK.  They couldn't even find the record of the acount.  Sent me a letter stating would remove the trade line.  [I don't know how this one will affect credit, as it was an older account, but still showed a balance due from 5 years ago]

So anyway, that's all so far.  I don't know what the scores will be, but I'll check them at the end of the month and keep you posted.

Re: Update since Active Repair

It definately rocks, but I am so curious to see what effect it will have on the FICO.  It's all good no matter what, because it's no longer a thorne in my side.  What amazed me the most is that I am actually getting letters from these companies stating that they will do what we discussed on the phone.

Re: Update since Active Repair

OK, as promised, I just updated my FICO scores due to an alert.  Although all of the new information has not been reported yet, here is a status report.  Hopefully these numbers will go up next month when they report.

TU 576 5/7/06 up from 563 3/06
Exp 614 [yipee] 5/7/06 up from 588
Equi 574 5/7/06 down from 588 [probably due to inquiries - refi mortgage - I guess].

Anyway, it looks like the new information has not hit the bureaus yet, so I'm hoping for a bump.  I am totally psyched about exp, although around here everyone pulls TU.

Re: Update since Active Repair

As promised, here is another update.  I got a fico alert today and my score jumped [up] 13 points.  Now of course, this is just the equifax, I haven't checked the TU or exp today.  I think I'll wait until the end of the month.

What's important to note, is that I really just started to correct errors after a long absence.  The scores seem to change rapidly, however, I have corrected a number of issues that were incorrect for a long time.  I believe that this score increase was a result of a student loan which was reporting as a collection.  It was incorrectly reporting, as the account was and always has been paid as agreed.  I guess I just got to the right department this time to fix the mistake.

Also of note, the reports seem to update differently.  Ex went up 34 points in the last month and this was with just two accounts reporting differently.  TU went up 10 points.  I am not sure if Ex and TU received and updated the new information yet, that's why I'm waiting until the end of the month [they had not as of 5/4].

Just FYI. I'll keep everyone posted as to score changes.
