Guys.... if I'm only using 10% of my total credit on each card (very low limits) does it still benefit me to pif each month or can I pay minimum to keep activity on the card without having to keep making purchases?

Re: Utilization

How high are your limits?!     And how many cards do you have?     If you had say 3 cards and only use 10% of 100 on each that's different than having 15 cards with mix of high and low CL or better yet have you considered just using the AZEO method since you want to keep lower percent on your card?!       That way you can use it pay it off and only keep a reporting balance on your Bank card.

Re: Utilization

If you don’t PIF, you will pay interest.

As far as activity goes, for most, one charge every 12 months is sufficient. Some, like Wells Fargo maybe place a charge every 3 to 4 months.

Some, like Citibank, you can go to 24 months usually, but YMMV.

Re: Utilization

But keep in mind you have to have a balance report it on at least one National bankcard or you will suffer a penalty. But you can PIF and then place a small charge before the statement closes.

You should pay in full each month.
