Vital Recovery?

Hi,

Does anyone know who Vital Recovery is?  They keep calling my home, and not leaving a message.  I finally just googled the number and came up with Vital Recovery.  I do se they made a hard inquiry on my TU report in 8/06 but they are not reporting anything, and honestly all my past due debts are accounted for.  I can't imagine what they would want with me.  What I find online seems to confirm they're a scam company, but I don't know.  I'm close to reaching my credit goals as a lot of my baddies will fall off in the next few months, and I don't want some forgotten baddie to come back and bite me in the arse so if anyone has any experience with them, please let me know.

Thanks.

They are a collection agency. Do not ever talk to them on the phone. I know that goes for all CA, but triple on this one.

DV them.

I DV'd them and never heard from them again. They refuse to remove the hard inquiry they placed on my CR. I just filed complaint with BBB.

Re: Vital Recovery?

Oh no, I've learned from this wonderful forum never to talk to any ca on the phone, but how do I DV them when I don't know what they're calling about and there's nothing listed on my credit report from them?  As I think about it, they've been calling me for a couple years.  I never pick up the phone for unknown numbers but as most of my debt is settled and ca really have no reason to call me anymore and don't, I got curious as to who this could really be.  Perhaps, I should just let the sleeping dog lie and get a block on my phone for this #?

Re: Vital Recovery?

Also, I've never received any letters from them in the mail, so I truly have no idea what debt they could think I owe them...

Re: Vital Recovery?

They did send me something in the mail. Watch for it.

Instead of sending DV, you could send a letter requesting the calls to stop and all communications in writing. Something like.........

I noticed that you have left a message for me at my home telephone number. Based on the research that I have done, it appears your company is a collection agency. I do not know why you would be contacting me, perhaps a wrong telephone number. As I do not conduct business over the phone, especially financial business, if I am the person you are trying to reach at XXX-XXX-XXXX, please communicate with me only in writing. As of the date you recieve this letter, any phone calls will be in violation of FDCPA.

You may want to be careful about sending this if it is possible they are collecting a debt that is yours, and there is the possibility it could be within SOL still, especially if there is also a possibility that it is a large debt that you could not pay if a summons were issued.

Re: Vital Recovery?

Okay, thanks.  Maybe I'll wait until next spring.  Every debt I've ever owed would be well beyond the SOL by then.  Their inquiry in my credit report was two years ago and I haven't yet received a summons or letters or anything so perhaps it will keep for another few months.  Thanks for your help sidewinder!

Re: Vital Recovery?

Funny, they just did a hard inquiry on my CR on 10 Jul. No idea what for. I looked them up on google and could not find what types of account they collect for.

Re: Vital Recovery?

From their website it seems they do everything from credit cards to utilities.
