WILL debt validation reset the SOL?

I have two debts on my credit report one is five years old and one is four  years old.  If  I send a letter to them to validate the debt will it reset the SOL.

No, as long as you don't modify the DV to mention that the debt is yours, that you paid on it,  or something like that.
