When I was finishing up college my only credit card through a local CU had a $10k limit and at the time my income was probably around $20k as I was working part-time. Being it was my only CC though, I had no other revolving exposure and my credit scores were in the mid 700s. As we all know from reading on this site, people on here have limits that are 2X-3X their income and beyond.
