When creditors call...

I was just wondering what should I say when creditors call?  I know you guys say not to talk to them on the phone.  However, I know FOR CERTAIN they are calling for DH and not me.  I just want to talk to them to get info on what account, etc. they are calling about.

I just want to pass along the info.  I never say who I am when they ask.  Anyway, any ideas?  I'm just tired of them calling.  I have no idea about his credit, etc.  He has a lawyer that is helping him with a debt management plan....

Thanks.

Re: When creditors call...

Nah, don't talk to them to get info.  Don't answer at all as a matter of fact, get call ID and an answering machine that records to tape if he's getting lots of them.

Not sure what progress his lawyer is making with him but if DH is paying the atty... that atty should be aware of what accounts to send a C&D to.

DH should send DVs to all CAs.  Hopefully the lawyer advised him to do so first.  Smiley Surprised

You should ask DH how things are going and explain that he might want to check out these forums to make sure that he's doing everything in the best possible way that he can.

Re: When creditors call...

you shouldn't answer. if you answer by accident just tell them that you cannot comment on someone else's affairs. ask them for their company, name and number and pass it on to hubbie's atty who should notify them of representation and stop the calls.

Do not under any circumstances give any information to them. do not accept responsibility for the debt. do not ask any questions about the debt.
