I paid off a chase account about 4 weeks ago. June 24th to be exact. However, a balance of $869 is still showing even though I paid it to zero. I talked to Chase reps and they said they sent updated info to the bureaus on July 20th to reflect the zero balance. As of today, my CR has not been updated for chase.
Does the bureaus take time to update an account once they receive the new account information?
Do they have a certain date when they go in an update people's CR?
Or do they update as soon as they receive the latest account information?
Just did some research and answered my own question. According to this site I've listed below, the "credit bureau's are required to update CR as soon as they receive the information".

Starting to get a little pissed right now.
Chase is a bit slow to update.
They update a 1-3 days after the statement is generated. Seems to be more closely related to a day after the online statment can be downloaded. Logon to your account and see if you can open your last statment. If you can then they sent the info to the CRAs the next day after that statment was available.
EX will update the next day after that. EQ and TU will take an extra 2-4 days.
The important info here is your statment date. If that was July 20, then EX should have updated a few days ago. EQ and TU should be updating about now.
Thanks!
I am good now. I found the problem. The problem is TransUnion.com. I been using their system for CR viewing only, not for thier bogus credit score. I know their score is not the Fico and now it appears that their credit reporting data is not accurate as well. Transunion.com still shows the old Chase balance, even after I hit the update report option each day.
Today I logged into scorsesense.com to try their $1.00 7 day trail. And I noticed their system was very up-to-date and it did show Chase bal. was a zero balance. It also said my Transunion score was 680, which was only 11 points off from the My Fico score that I purchased here today that came in at 669. Even the CR here on MYFico showed Chase bal. was zero. Not sure why Transunion.com still shows the old Chase balance even after I did the "updage report" option.
I think I'm going to call transunion.com today and ask them why can't they atleast keep up-to-date CR and demand a refund.
There is no difference between where you pull your credit reports from. When you request a report, whether it is from here, transunion.com, or any of the monitoring products, they send the request directly to TU who provides the most recent data available. If you pull your report from 10 different places on the same day, the only way there would be a difference is if a trade line just happened to be updated in between your first pull and the one reporting the difference. All the other sites are resellers of TU information.
+1
Did you pull ur report on same day???. Chances are that u might have seen the report which was oulled already...
