Why did my AAoA drop?

I was doing my weekly check on Credit Karma and noticed that my AAoA dropped by six months.  I did not get any new accounts regarding credit lines or loans whatsoever.  My newest account is my AMEX which is about 8 months old, and that was reflected on Credit Karma.  The only thing I can think of is that Macy's closed my store card due to inactivity (one of my older cards).  But I thought closed cards would continue to report on my reports for up to 10 years?  I'm so confused!

Ck fake does not factor closed account into aaoa. Regular fico however does because closed account stays on profile for 10 years.

Moral of the story, don't worry.. It's just how Ck fako

Only use credit karma for inq's. if Macy's is still on your cr, then your AAOA should not have dropped

Oh ok, thanks!  Will the USAA Experian reporting thing count my closed Macy's as part of my AAoA?

I agree it's not worth time to worry about FAKO score drops, they have many differences in how their scores are determined, including AAoA, AU accounts, inquiries, etc...

I'm late to the party.  But yes, that's why.  You have a closed account now and CK does not factor those in.  I have an account I'm paying off this week, a 15 year old mortgage on some rental property.  When I do pay that, say goodbye to 15 years of perfect payment history.  But alas, it's only their FAKO score.  Smiley Happy  FICO will still factor in this account age for 10 more years.
