Hi and welcome to the forums

That would depend on why it was removed from your CR, so it could come back.

Were you informed that dispute was completed?

I would think the chances of it coming back then are extremely slim.  If it did and the dispute ended in your favor (which presumably it did) all it would take is a quick phone call to have it re-reported correctly in most cases.  I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Re: Will a deleted item on your credit report come back?

It depends upon why and how it was removed.

Reinsertion of information that was deleted as a result of a dispute is governed under FCRA 611(a)(5)(B), which is reproduced below, and sets forth restrictions on when and what must be done to reinsert information that was deleted by a CRA as a result of a dispute.

In  nutshell, a CRA can delete if the furnisher does not provide verification of accuracy back to the CRA.

HOwver, that deletion is not absolute.  The FCRA permits reinsertion if the information is accompanied by a certification of accuracy of the information, thus removing the lack of verification issue that existed when the dispute was resolved.

A common scenario is if the furnisher cannot, for some reason, complete their investigation and response back to the CRA within the normal period of 30 days from date of the dispute.  If, at some later time, they do obtain adequate basis to verify the accuracy, they can then get the deleted information resinserted by providing the lacking verification.

The reinsertion provision applies to both the party who previously reported, and to any other party, such as a new debt collector who seeks to reinsert a collection deleted as a result of a prior dispute.

________________________

FCRA 611(a)(5)(B)    Requirements Relating to Reinsertion of Previously Deleted Material

  • Certification of accuracy of information. If any informa-tion is deleted from a consumer’s file pursuant to subparagraph (A), the information may not be reinserted in the file by the consumer reporting agency unless the person who furnishes the information certifies that the informa-tion is complete and accurate.
  • Notice to consumer. If any information that has been deleted from a consumer’s file pursuant to subparagraph
    • is reinserted in the file, the consumer reporting agency shall notify the consumer of the reinsertion in writing not later than 5 business days after the reinsertion or, if authorized by the consumer for that purpose, by any other means available to the agency.
  • Additional information. As part of, or in addition to, the notice under clause (ii), a consumer reporting agency shall provide to a consumer in writing not later than 5 business days after the date of the reinsertion
  • a statement that the disputed information has been reinserted;
  • the business name and address of any furnisher of information contacted and the telephone number of such furnisher, if reasonably available, or of any furnisher of information that contacted the consumer reporting agency, in connection with the reinsertion of such information; and
  • a notice that the consumer has the right to add a state-ment to the consumer’s file disputing the accuracy or completeness of the disputed information.

Re: Will a deleted item on your credit report come back?

Did the dispute end in your favor and come back, or was it deleted during the dispute and the dispute didn't end in your favor and it came back?  Over what frame of time are we talking as well between the deletion and addition?
