does anyone know if chase does a (hard) inq when added to a joint account? if so, what cbs do they use? also, could i get a cli were im just added? its my dads card, 8 years old, cl 300. its a low cl, but i want to get a better cli, or does my father have to do it were it is his card? thanks

I can guarantee you it's a hard pull for joint, I know from experience...the twits!  Chase is BRUTAL about lates so be very careful.

No pulls for AU.

I don't think you can't be added as a *joint*, you have to apply.  Being added as an AU gives you no priviledge other than to charge.

Our joint accouts show as joint because we applied together.  Authorized Users is because I had accounts and added dh to the account.  He cannot make any changes or request increases.

If your dad has good scores, he should request his own CLI before you even start thinking about adding yourself.  He can do it online or by calling but it is a hard INQ.  That will give you a better starting point.

The owner has to apply for someone else to be joint.  I had my DW and DD as Aus on my Chase card, and asked to make DW joint.  They screwed up and made daughter joint, and when I told them I really wanted DW as joint not DD, they said did not like children as joint owners.

But the cardholder needs to ask for a CLI.

MV what was the process for adding DW as joint?  I need to do the same with DH (AU now) and am wondering if it is paperwork or just a phone call.

well i hope chase will do it. my dad put me on his wamu as a au, 11000 cl, about 10 years old. but they wouldnt take me ssn, so it wasnt going to go on my credit report. the cs at wamu said the only way it might go on is if i had the same address as my dad. and wamu wouldnt do a joint account either, they wont do those any more. anyways when i talked to my dad he was calling chase, and said he would do what ever it would to take to get me on there..

i think my old man has good credit. 20000 cl citi. low uilt. on the chase card i would think they would pull my credit for the account. but were it is such a low cl, 300, i would get approved, myfico is 630. my eq is 535, but just had two ca, and one co, removed, ex, and eq, are all clean, working on tu. seems like a lote more lenders use tu..

Phone them, they will send a simple form and you both sign it and return.  Didn't tale long, and they didn't actually pull a hard on either of us this time.

They did a hard for a CLI though

Is this really not showing up on your credit report?
