Hello everyone,
I just ran all 3 CR's and found several errors that I need to have corrected. I'm not sure if all requests for correction need to be in writing or if some can be taken care of with a phone call. I've edited this to be a little more specific so maybe I can get advice.
Experian:
1. includes incorrect former names
2. date of birth isn't reported
3. current address is incorrect (this one has the possibility of being tampering as the address was changed to a po box that my soon to be ex purchased approx. 1 month ago. I didn't request an address change with anyone at any time) My actual current address is now listed as former address.
4. there is no record of employer. I've been employed forever. Would this have an impact on my credit score? Is this hurting my score or possible a lenders decision if they are looking for stability?
5. account from 5/94 showing. It's in good standing. Don't know if its mine or not. $0 balance. Should I leave it alone? Status is listed as "inactive"
6. collection that was included in 2003 bankruptcy showing with balance still owed with status listed as seriously past due.
7. 2 other collections also included in bankruptcy have no notation where it should be showing $0 balance.
8. Big baddie: Judgment from 7/06 which was actually a medical bill for my husband. Hospital is telling me that in the state of Missouri the husband is assumed head of household and my name shouldn't have even been on it. I think I may be able to take care of this one in person with the hospital and then the court if the hospital withdraws it from my name. I'm not sure about the best way to handle this one.
9. Satisfied judgment from 3/03 which actually was a result of my own irresponsibility. Can you GW a judgment off a record?
For those that should be in writing, should they be sent RRR?
Errors on the other 2 reports are similar and not quite as bad as Ex. Sorry for the length. I didn't realize just how many errors there were until I started typing.
Again, any advice you can give me is much appreciated!
