Andy - I've read lots of posts tho where people claim to have called the courthouse and the courthouse says they did not report it - that it isn't up to them, etc. Also when I disputed the judgment for myself and DH - DH's came back DELETED. I disputed it so it would show up as satisfied. Mine came back satisfied, his deleted. How can that have happened?
When I say by the court not referring to a specific courthouse. I do not know how the courts have set up the reporting of their information to the bureau(s). I doubt if each courthouse does their own reporting i would guess it is reported from one location for all the courthouse(s) let us say for Los Angeles county. So what the rep says maybe true. In your particaular case, I am not sure the bureaus verify these items when they are disputed. Were both of your names on the judgment?
Yes. We were both listed on the judgment in this order: MY CURRENT NAME
MY MAIDEN NAME
HUSBAND'S NAME
Perhaps in trying to match the courts info with the credit bureaus request for info the fact that your husbands name was 3rd on the list may have influenced the difference in outcomes to the dispute. In other words the request may have found your name and updated to satisfied but found no match for your husbands name. With no match the bureau may have deleted because there is no verification.
This is simply speculation on my part. I personally disputed with a bureau (can't remember which one) to update a judgment, same as you, and my result was deletion. Don't know why, just know I was happy to not see it anymore.
