opt out

I have heard about "opting out" and have found a link on myfico to do so, but will it stop a current lender from checking my report. Are there certain things one should opt out for. I am wanting to do it because i have been approved for a loan and i just don't want any CA on my report. It has already happened from one that i had already paid, i just want to be sure it wont again. thanks

Re: opt out

www.optoutprescreen.com and it will not block your current lender or anyone you've given permission to pull your info. It just stops data mining Smiley Happy

Re: opt out

Thank you for the info. Who all does it eliminate from checking your credit? How does it tell the difference from who you give permission to?  Will this prevent ghost CA's?

Re: opt out

Opting out with the CRAs prevents them from selling your personal information

Opting out with all creditors in good standing prevents JDB and CA from producing bogus collections.

Re: opt out

If you want to prevent any future hard inquiries on your credit reports, you will need to place a freeze on them.
