Re: prisoner of my own mistakes

It doesn't sound like a secured card, unless you had pledged $1500 to a secured acct. like a CD or savings. It could have been a counter-offer to a different product.

You shouldn't be charged. Call CS and make sure.

Re: prisoner of my own mistakes

I'm so upset.

I got charged $36 and got nothing. Now they are telling me that the money will be put back on my card within the next statement. Furthermore they referred me to www.annualcreditreport.com.

Can anyone shed some light on what's going on?

Re: prisoner of my own mistakes

You can get free CRs once a year from the aforementioned link. Maybe too you can try TC. They use a different formula. They are not FICO scores and shouldn't be used as a replacement, but you'd get ballpark scores. However, you don't want to lose more $$$. If you got offered a CC before of $1500, you can't be that bad off, history-wise. You won't know what's going on until you see a report.

Re: prisoner of my own mistakes

Ok, I can take a look at truecredit.com, but won't that lower my score? What else do I have to be concerned about?

I'm even more discouraged right now.

pulling your own credut report does not affect your score.  It is not an inq.

But to find a graceful way of staying slid

I dont mind spending a bit of money if I'm getting good information, should I go to TC? Or should I go somewhere else?

I'm really taking all the advice here into serious consideration, thank you for the help so far.

Re: prisoner of my own mistakes

Even though its not the real thing, I like TC. However, like on MyFico, you could run into the same error message. At least you can see all three reports in a side-by-side comparison.

Re: prisoner of my own mistakes

I like TC as well. I use it almost daily and then pull MyFICO scores as I want to see them.
