Hello everyone. I brought a home with my brother (passed Oct 2018) he has no kids, no will, not married only our mother whom I don't have a relationship with and she is entitled to his half of the property. He signed the mortgage and I'm on the title and deed (not the mortgage) I paid all mortgage payments, down payment etc. I was told I could sell the propoerty because I thought the home was owned with surviorship. But it was not. I can't afford to keep making the payments on the home cause I live out of state. If the home went into forclosure will it show on my credit bureau because I want to buy a home on my won next year?
Yes as it will be a public record. Best to enlist a real estate lawyer to communicate with your mother to put the home on the market. In a foreclosure, you stand to walk away with nothing after Master Commissioner's fees, mortgage interest due, back property taxes. Try to make or break even at minimum.
