Joined another CU tonight for additional penny storage. So far not a HP. They have 2% on savings up to 2499$. Certainly not the highest out there, but I work in a region that qualifies me for membership eligibility, so I figured why not.
Once I max out the Service CU Christmas Club in the next few months I'll need a new place to send additional funds. Seems like I'd eventually end up here anyhow. I'll probably initially use it as a place to store the pennies I make off the other CUs for now.

They denied me for 'limited credit experience' - my profile is 1yr 8mos.

Did you see the cashback credit card they have? it's actually a pretty sweet deal... they seem to be geo-fenced as everyone I know that is outside that area is now being denied membership. However... you're in, you should check it out. In addition to the regular cashback, they have rotating 5% categories... they call it hi 5, you find the info under the general credit cards tab.

Yes, you can join Affinity!
There are 4 paths to membership. You are eligible to apply if you meet at least ONE of the following:

There are 4 paths to membership. You are eligible to apply if you meet at least ONE of the following:
- You live, work, worship or go to school in select New Jersey or Connecticut communities
- New Jersey - parts of Edison, Franklin Township (Somerset County), New Brunswick, North Brunswick, Piscataway
- Connecticut - all of Norwalk, Darien, New Canaan, Weston, Westport, Wilton
- You're employed by (or affiliated with) one of our partner organizations. Check the list.
- Another member of your family or household is an existing Affinity member.
- You make a $5 donation to support financial literacy and become a member of the New Jersey Coalition for Financial Education (NJCFE) or Connecticut Jump$tart. (Your donation will be processed as part of your membership application)
I know, that's how I joined. But they originally denied my application. They have also denied several people on DOC. I pushed back, and since I work for the CU Assn, I knew who to talk to and how to get it rectified... but it sure looks like they are trying to limit their membership and risk to their geographic service area.

I believe I just got membership denied for the same reason even I donated $5 to the site they indicated during application process

Thanks for the heads up I'll check it out. I work in NJ and qualified that way, so I think that's why it went so smoothly.
