I have heard about it, but rare.. Sure you didnt apply for overdraft or anything else?
I might take my experience with a grain of salt. I did open the checking and savings, and did it in person and live in the state. Apologies I was going to mention this in a post edit when I got back from eating dinner.
I'm fairly certain I got HPed for membership (just opened a savings account at the time) as well, but that was in 2013 and I had to send in a paper application for some reason (if that makes a difference).
I have only had Alliant for ~2 months, and so far they have lived up to the Hype. Many great features! Great customer service. They always call you, you are never left in the dark...lol. My favorite thing about them is their super fast ACH transfers! I had SP for savings, then SP for checking, then SP for shared secure installment. I have not applied for anything credit card/unsecured loan. I do plan on opening something with them eventually
My memory may be a bit hazy but I think i did get hp for my checking account, don't recall anything for saving though. I opened savings account first with them then I opened checking account later when I saw they had a decent interest rate for checking.
My understanding from the time i first learned of Alliant was that SP for membership which included your opening share savings. On credit/finance products it's been shared that it's a HP for any of those as well as checking?
Not sure on the checking account entry however given the absolutely fantastic rate associated, that can be viewed as well worth the credit report pull IMHO.
I been with Alliant since December/January and currently am above satisfied with an open IL as well as CC with above board exceptional terms + limit.
My experience with Alliant is that they are very professionally staffed with friendly and down-to-earth no nonsense staffing people from the CSR's to Executive areas of their institution.
These fine folks have their act together fully and operate in a manner that should make even JD Power sit up and take some notice.

This is interesting as I did not realize it was only a SP.. Did you do a $500 loan 60 month term?

Yes I did. If you read the main thread about getting the loan you will see it is usually sp, but I guess some people have gotten HP's. It is YMMV.
