I am on a road trip, am I allowed to open a checking account with SUB and apply for credit card in the future even it is geofencing. I am in Boston at the moment, Citizens Bank as an example since their locations are everyhwere in the city. I am wondering am I allowed to these actions though I live in Portland, Oregon. Appreciate your responses.
So, you'll be there a few days? A week? You'd have to use the address where you reside to apply, so just because your phone's IP address is in Boston, that won't get you around the geofencing. I was in Huntsville a few weeks ago, but that didn't make me eligible for Redstone.

You might try in person, see what they say.

Where you are physically at the moment won't change the geo-fencing rules.
But it might help you get past identification hurdles which out of state credit union applicants sometimes encounter when applying online.
There are some nice credit unions up that way.
