Guys,
This is literally my 6th time applying for membership with them. I have no idea why they chose this particular time to let me in but whatevs! I'm happy!
Just putting this out there for anyone else who has been denied membership with DCU...I guess they do come around eventually.

Congratulations stellar! ;-)
The 6th's time the charm!!!
You tried and tried and tried and did not give up, and that's the way to be.
If you don't mind me asking, what were the things that probably kept you from being approved in the past?
When I first applied last year I still had some baddies on my report (now totally clean) and I also had gotten a few accounts at different credit unions (so maybe inquiries on chexsystems). Not sure exactly but that's my guess.
Oh ok. I see.
Thanks for sharing your background, as well as your willingness to not give up on your goal!
*Kudos* and *Congratulation*
Thank you! To be honest, I started thinking I may never get in with them. I don't even know why I applied again, I had actually given up on them back in June. After I applied I was like: why did I waste another HP on them, I know they're gonna say no. And then when I had to upload the same documents, I was like, I shouldn't even bother wasting my time doing this. I was absolutely shocked when I got the welcome email.
The only thing that was different this time, was I had a hard time logging in to upload the documents requested, so I emailed them saying I couldn't log in, was there another way for me to upload docs and also mentioned that I had applied several times before so maybe they already had my documents on file.
Maybe mentioning my repeated previous applications had the effect of convincing the person reviewing my file to say yes. Idk.
;-)
I know it has got to feel great to get in with them. I have been considering them as well, and several people here have mentioned good things about them too. So way to go with getting in! ;-)
I have decided to garden for a while, and am trying to deal with an issue with BofA with a Visa card- I don't want to pay the annual fee and want an increase in credit limit. That's another story though... lol....
Have you been able to logon to DCU's website yet? And if so, are you happy with their website account interface? And did you go for any credit lines as well?

They are very chexsystems sensitive! other then that they let me in with tons of baddies on my CR!
Enjoy the free EQ Fico Score
So for you to get an account with them, they did not do a hard pull of your credit with the CRAs, and only did ChexSystems?

They did HP, and I had many baddies and collection at the time of opening my membership with them. They only cared about ChexSystems issue to be resolved from my other bank.
At the time when they did a HP, my score was 510 (last summer)

Oh ok. I got ya. I was thinking that they did HPs, and you confirmed what I thought was the case. Also glad you were able to get in as well.
