I opened DCU account 2 or 3 weeks ago. I waited for the member number and pin to come in via snail mail. Finally got both last week. Both are not recognized by DCU. Each time I try to log in I get error that username or password is not recognized. I have called DCU every day for past 3 days and every day CSRs tell me that their system is down.
Is this normal? Do they routinely have their systems down for more than 3 days at a time and nobody can access their accounts> Have your online banking been down in the past 3 days (April 20 - April 23) or is this only me? I honestly kind of feel like CSRs are just not knowledgable and are trying to blame the system for an issue.
I found the whole process to be very convoluted, confusing and lacking in good support. Kind of reminds me of my auto loan with greenwood.
Now that I have the account, I'm enjoying my 6% interest but not sure I'll use them for anything else.
Hmmm. I just logged into my account with no trouble.
At the moment DCU is 99% shutdown. You can't go inside and drive thru is open in only handful of locations with one person behind the glass. Supervisors and support are working from home and their main office is closed.
DCU has definitely dropped the ball for their customers. They assume is end of the world! Other banks even let you go inside!
The way DCU has reacted is very disappointing. Week after week there is a 2.5 hours line to get to a window!

Okay Im going to give it a couple of days and just close their account and ask them to mail me in the check for my funds.
DCU can be a bit of a pain at times... I haven't been having any issues logging in but I remember the headache of getting set up when I joined last February and I definitely would not want to be dealing with that with the COVID-19 mess right now!
I joined a few months ago and it was very frustrating. I received the pin but it was smudged and difficult to read, I tried a few different numbers and nothing worked. I called them and apparently I ended up locking myself out from all the tries. They did something in their system and said "ok try again" but umm .. I didn't know the right pin lol. There was nothing they could do except mail me yet another pin letter, took forever.
I haven't had any issues since then but it was super annoying.
If you do manage to get everthing going make sure you save the PIN as this is also the pin for a debit card should you open a checking account in the future if you haven't already. I learned that the hard way, I originally only opened a savings account just to establish membership, later opened a checking account and when I got the debit card and no PIN I called and they said it was originally sent to me when I established membership and they could send me a new one and you have no choice to set what it is, what they send you is what you are stuck with. After waiting almost 2 weeks for that to show up, tried it and it didn't work, I called them and they told me because the card was issued with the old PIN they had to send me a new card to use with the new PIN another 2 weeks. All in all from opening he checking account to having a usable PIN was about 5-6 weeks because of the various hoops.
Overall I like them but some parts of their process especially around the initial setup are VERY archaic and such a hassle.
