So in testing if my EQ file was messed up I applied for a DCU Platinum card and in the reading, I noticed a unique feature - it can be used as overdraft protection for your DCU checking. So I went and looked at their checking account and I have to say, it looks pretty nice. 2 days early direct deposit is a feature most CUs charge for.
I am now thinking about going ahead and getting a checking and savings with them if I get the Platinum card and moving my banking to them instead of to NFCU but I want to hear what people have to say.

Yes, they are very good. The early direct deposit is a real treat.
I was not aware you could use the platinum card as overdraft protection.

I wasn’t really that sold on NFCU’s offerings but if I get approved for this card, I think I’ll move my banking to them.
That savings return will be nice when I can save money again (Medicaid won’t let me do that right now).
Any cons with them? I noticed they’re not open 24/7 for customer service but I hardly ever have to call for help anyway.
As soon as I submitted that last message.
DCU is a very good place to bank, but one thing that prevent me from considering it as a primary bank, is a $3 fee for pushing out

$3 to send to another bank but not for bill pay, right?
I don’t plan to be doing bank to bank transfers. Zelle was nice for zipping money between 1stBank and NFCU once and the second time it was heavily delayed so I would like to just have one checking account again and DCU seems like a great option.
I do my checking with them and they've been great so far (10 months in), though I can't say anything for DD as I still get monthly paychecks instead. Their Android app works totally fine. I do mobile check deposits a lot, and anything <$1,000 deposits instantly, while anything larger tends to be manually reviewed and made available on the same or next business day.
Haven't tried bank-to-bank ACH transfers, but they do have an alternative to Zelle in PeoplePay which I think is just an easy way to do small ACH or DD transfers. It usually takes 2-3 days to see the funds appear on my other bank's account.
I recently inquired about 1) instant mobile deposits and 2) getting my paychecks counted as DD so I could get their Relationship benefits. Regarding mobile deposits, they will do a periodic review of accounts and decide whether to increase the instantly available amount from the $1,000 limit I'm currently at. And regarding #2, they said they are open to getting paychecks counted as DD, too. And that kind of thing has been my overall experience at DCU -- logical (which I definitely can't say for any of the banks available locally).
No idea if it's better than NFCU, and I'm still willing to test more checking accounts at other CUs, but I don't think DCU's a bad place at all for banking. I'm loving it a lot so far.

Right, silly $3 fee to push an ACH transfer out but no fee for pulling an ACH out from another bank, and no fee for bill pay. And their bill pay is very fast, I normally have my CCs pull my payments but BoA is a pain if you don't have a BoA bank account so I use DCU's bill pay for them, funds withdrawn in the morning and credited to my BoA CC that afternoon.
I've been with DCU, checking & savings, since they gave me a great rate on my car loan in Oct. 2017, very happy with them.

My bank give me early DD by one day. At first I thought it was great but you have to remember after the first paycheck you are still on a weekly, bi-weekly, etc schedule. It is nice when you get irregular DD like a tax refund.

True, but early is still nice. Apparently the Federal Reserve send notices of incoming payroll direct deposits and credit unions like DCU give you credit for it when they receive the notice, big banks make you wait until they actually have it in their hot little hands. I have my payroll currently split between DCU and Wells Fargo, doing a bank account bonus with WF, nothing better I like then Wells Fargo paying me $$$ for my putting up with them for 10 years 1999-2009. By-weekly Fridays are my payday, Thursday morning it's in DCU, Wells not until Friday.
