@Anonymous wrote:I wanted a NASA credit card. The login page to check on my membership application keeps telling me that joining is "FAST, EASY, and SECURE". I guess 15 days is fast to them. I finally got my membership approved today after many phone calls and messages (not "EASY").
I logged in for the first time, and it took me to the worst security question choices I've ever seen. What would I bring with me if stranded on a deserted island? Who is my favorite president? What is my favorite pet? (What percentage of Americans answer "dog", I wonder. Not exactly a very secure question)
Anyway, I'm in! However, I can't remember why I wanted their credit card so bad, and now I'm in the garden.
I'm posting hoping it will help others realize it does take a while to get into NASA, but they do eventually get there.
Coconuts. You'd be amazed at all the things you can make from a coconut on a deserted island.
A Christmas president.
Pet rock.
Watched lots of Gilligan's Island?
Congrats OP. I'm really looking forward to the new website. Hope a new iphone app isn't far behind.

Their website is being updated on the 10th of May. It's about time. Lol
I was just going to say that. I am looking forward to seeing what they are going to do.
My only concern is, as often happens, are we going to be sorely disappointed?
After 3 weeks of their foolishness I gave up; it was one thing after another and I decided it wasn't worth it.
Congratulations!
I labored thru the app just now AND answered the questions correctly, I believe, only to find out app needs further review and I should hear back in 2-3 biz days.
What's that all about?
ps. I apped via membership in ACC, for free via "consumer," as recommended here. So thanks.

Don't get your hopes up. That "2-3 business days" is just a ruse. They mean 2-3 days after they get around to looking at it, they will send you a message. You'll respond immediately, then 2-3 days later, they will send you the exact same message again.

Well they were for me. I got the same message telling me to call in to give them more information 3 times. Each time I called and the person answering could not figure out what was needed from me so I replied to the message explaining my phone call experience and got the same message again as a reply. Then once they eventually told me what they wanted, I requested to send in a specific alternate form of ID, they agreed, then 2 days later sent me another message requesting the first document again. All messages show up in one window. I kept having to say, "Please see above where member services said xyz." It was a mess. Thankfully I had read on MyFico forums that Navy is slow but worth it eventually. I'm not sure about the worth it part yet, but I did experience the slow!
Just received email after apping for membership six (6) days ago asking only for a driver's license for verification.
Am I home free?
