I joined over one year ago. I can't remember what organization I joined under but I listened to a Youtuber that gives all the information you need to join. Just type in youtube nasa credit union in the search bar and it will come up with great info on how to join. Can't remember if they pulled chex systems or not. Sorry. But all in all it was easy to join.
I applied over the weekend (membership only no checking) so we will see. Did you apply?
You can join via American Consumer Council
https://www.americanconsumercouncil.org/membership.asp?dname=Americanconsumercouncil.org
Go to the link above, put your info where it says: One person per application. put Membership Code: 'consumer'
within 5 minutes you will receive a FREE membership number.
then select I am a member or employee of a NASA Federal association or partner company. >> American Consumer Council
I helped someone join recently and it was a hard pull from Experian and ChexSystems sensitive. the application was declined.

@Anonymous Exactly how I joined 5 years ago with American consumer council. I believe currently NASA fcu been asking for copy of ID Social security card prove of address with a Utility or Bank statement. Hope this helps.
@gingerflower Even with all those 3 docs, they declined my app recently for reasons of being Unable to verify identity. luckily no inquiry was pulled.
@Anonymous I know what you mean i gave my Son my membership number to join but my Son said forget it bcuz NASA Fcu asked for copy of his Social security card. He don't mind ID prove of address and POI but not his Social security card. No Thks!
@gingerflower I recently joined many other CU for the reason that I filed for bankruptcy. most of the CU ask for DL, DL + SSN or DL+SSN+POA
@Anonymous
I guess my Son felt other Cu's and Banks only ask SSN but not the card itself.He felt it was to much of a personal info request that was not worth his time. Anyway, you might want to call customer service and ask why they could not verify your Identity. Good Luck!
@gingerflower I almost applied for about 5 CUs recently and all of them asked for a copy of SSN, DL, POA. they have been dealing with so much if identity theft and which is why asked soo many documents to make sure your info will not misuse. this will protect you from not being a victim of a identity theft.
