I just helped an 18 year old get membership. grandfather via his step father. neither have nfcu. gf is still alive, 30 years usaf. the csr did not even blink, opened the membership via phone on the spot and 15 min later he got a $3k card. outstanding cu, outstanding csrs. do it on the phone

TransUnion score and debt to income.
Your first NFCU card might have a smaller starting credit line than what you'd like, but 91 days and three statements later, your second card will have a much more generous starting line.
