They do not allow it. It is the one area that is lacking with NFCU Checking / Savings accounts. They would still be my main personal checking account if they had this feature. Many other CU's have that feature and the funds are there the next AM. Banks take days for the most part as there is interest gained in holding that money for a few days.
@spiritcraft1 You answered my question. Thank you a lot.

1. Yes it does not make sense.
2. No, you are not doing something wrong. It's NFCU that's doing something wrong. They don't let you pull ACH transfers to deposit accounts, only to credit accounts. Makes zero sense. You have to push the transfers from outside.

You would think that they would want to make it easier to bring cash into their accounts. They already have it all set up for loans. I don't get the reasoning at all.

+1 I left over a year ago for the same reason. The account is still open but havent used it since. Surprised its still open. But I can make payments to the More Rewards from Chase. Go figure.

I tried that once and they locked my account and the fraud department called me. Ended up just writing myself a check.
@Duriel I like how active you're on here, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Small issue I can easily look past for everything they offer and have done for me.
I write a check from my external account to cash and deposit in NFCU mobile app and the money is there next day.
Never ever an issue.
