PenFed Questions - Please Help?!?

Yes ddemari. I could have sworn I said no but it appeared on my account page and I just got the letter in the mail with the terms.

I can't believe they approved me for any amount given my 28 inquiries. I'm pretty excited. I'm hoping it opens up other things further down the road for me with them.

congrats!! i was floored too when I was approved back to back to back in one day with a lot of EQ inquiries. i think you are on their radar now congrats!

Now I'm wondering if they'll ever let me in the future get a cc with the ch7 reporting now that they've approved the thrifty, no questions asked?????? It's 22 months old right now. Wonder how long they want to see rebuilding?!?!?

Do they use the same HP for how many days? I'm now thinking of pushing my luck and trying to refi my car with them - wonder how soon would be too soon. I'm sitting at 6.01% right now - it's not super urgent right this second but would be nice to try and get it knocked down a few points.

So far I'm pretty impressed with PenFed - received my debit card within a few days and my checks late last week.  No hassles or issues so far.

I really want to use my original HP to try and refinance my car through them BUT they are valuing the car for about $500 less than what my loan is for - the CU I have the loan at valued the car at $37K and PenFed is saying $34.5K - I owe $34,985 - GRRRRRRRRR!  I could throw some money at it, but am hesitant just to try and get an approval.  Not sure what to do on this one?!?

I did apply for a CC since I already took the HP for membership (a girl has gotta try every so often) - I got denied for pyramiding debt, no mention of the bankruptcy, lol!  Maybe there is some hope one day.............

UPDATE:  PenFed

I went back and applied for a refi on my car (I must of messed up the other day because today the car value is $37K with them) and was INSTANTLY APPROVED online!  My interest rate was lowered by 2% and I've shortened the length of the loan by a year - it's not their best rate (2.74%) but it is down to 4.10%, I can't complain at all)!  I had an issue saving my payment information and the CSR was so nice, walked me through everything, got it fixed and the check is getting sent overnight!  No income verification, no pending status, and no payment until Dec 9, easy peasy! 

I found out that I have to wait 90 days in order to deposit checks via my phone, but she told me that was for everyone, nothing special or restricted about my account.  I'm so excited I could do a happy dance!

Congratulations!   That is a good rate so soon after a BK.  Plus it will help build your internal history with Penfed for a CC down the road.  I don't know how much internal history counts with Penfed, but it can't hurt.
